| 1 A Song of Ascents. Those who trust in the LORD Are as Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides forever. | 1 They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. | 1 [A song for going up to worship.] Those who trust the LORD are like Mount Zion, which can never be shaken. It remains firm forever. | 1 Those who trust in Yahweh are as Mount Zion, which can't be moved, but remains forever. | 1 {A Song of degrees.} They that confide in Jehovah are as mount Zion, which cannot be moved; it abideth for ever. | 2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the LORD surrounds His people From this time forth and forever. | 2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever. | 2 [As] the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people now and forever. | 2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so Yahweh surrounds his people from this time forth and forevermore. | 2 Jerusalem! mountains are round about her, and Jehovah is round about his people, from henceforth and for evermore. | 3 For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest upon the land of the righteous, So that the righteous will not put forth their hands to do wrong. | 3 For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity. | 3 A wicked ruler will not be allowed to govern the land set aside for righteous people. That is why righteous people do not use their power to do wrong. | 3 For the scepter of wickedness won't remain over the allotment of the righteous; so that the righteous won't use their hands to do evil. | 3 For the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity. | 4 Do good, O LORD, to those who are good And to those who are upright in their hearts. | 4 Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts. | 4 Do good, O LORD, to those who are good, to those whose motives are decent. | 4 Do good, Yahweh, to those who are good, to those who are upright in their hearts. | 4 Do good, O Jehovah, unto the good, and to them that are upright in their hearts. | 5 But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, The LORD will lead them away with the doers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel. | 5 As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel. | 5 But when people become crooked, the LORD will lead them away with troublemakers. Let there be peace in Israel! | 5 But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, Yahweh will lead them away with the workers of iniquity. Peace be on Israel. A Song of Ascents. | 5 But as for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, Jehovah will lead them forth with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel! |
