NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
For the choir director. A Maskil of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul and said to him, "David has come to the house of Ahimelech." Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? The lovingkindness of God endures all day long.1 Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.1 [For the choir director; a [maskil]; a psalm by David when Doeg (who was from Edom) told Saul that David had come to Ahimelech's home.] Why do you brag about the evil you've done, you hero? The mercy of God lasts all day long!1 Why do you boast of mischief, mighty man? God's loving kindness endures continually.1 {To the chief Musician: an instruction. Of David; when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David came to the house of Ahimelech.} Why boastest thou thyself in evil, thou mighty man? The loving-kindness of God abideth continually.
Your tongue devises destruction, Like a sharp razor, O worker of deceit.2 The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.2 Your tongue makes up threats. It's like a sharp razor, you master of deceit.2 Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.2 Thy tongue deviseth mischievous things, like a sharp razor, practising deceit.
You love evil more than good, Falsehood more than speaking what is right. Selah.3 Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.3 You prefer evil to good. You prefer lying to speaking the truth. [Selah]3 You love evil more than good, lying rather than speaking the truth. Selah.3 Thou hast loved evil rather than good, lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.
You love all words that devour, O deceitful tongue.4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.4 You love every destructive accusation, you deceitful tongue!4 You love all devouring words, you deceitful tongue.4 Thou hast loved all devouring words, O deceitful tongue!
But God will break you down forever; He will snatch you up and tear you away from your tent, And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah.5 God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.5 But God will ruin you forever. He will grab you and drag you out of your tent. He will pull your roots out of this world of the living. [Selah]5 God will likewise destroy you forever. He will take you up, and pluck you out of your tent, and root you out of the land of the living. Selah.5 God shall likewise destroy thee for ever; he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy tent, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

The righteous will see and fear, And will laugh at him, saying,6 The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:6 Righteous people will see [this] and be struck with fear. They will laugh at you and say,6 The righteous also will see it, and fear, and laugh at him, saying,6 The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him, saying,
"Behold, the man who would not make God his refuge, But trusted in the abundance of his riches And was strong in his evil desire."7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.7 "Look at this person who refused to make God his fortress! Instead, he trusted his great wealth and became strong through his greed."7 "Behold, this is the man who didn't make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness."7 Behold the man that made not God his strength, but put confidence in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his avarice.
But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the lovingkindness of God forever and ever.8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.8 But I am like a large olive tree in God's house. I trust the mercy of God forever and ever.8 But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in God's house. I trust in God's loving kindness forever and ever.8 But as for me, I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God: I will confide in the loving-kindness of God for ever and ever.
I will give You thanks forever, because You have done it, And I will wait on Your name, for it is good, in the presence of Your godly ones.9 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.9 I will give thanks to you forever for what you have done. In the presence of your godly people, I will wait with hope in your good name.9 I will give you thanks forever, because you have done it. I will hope in your name, for it is good, in the presence of your saints. For the Chief Musician. To the tune of "Mahalath." A contemplation by David.9 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it; and I will wait on thy name, before thy godly ones, for it is good.
