Folly and Wickedness of Men.For the choir director; according to Mahalath. A Maskil of David.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
1 For the choir director; according to Mahalath. A Maskil of David. The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God," They are corrupt, and have committed abominable injustice; There is no one who does good.1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.1 [For the choir director; according to [mahalath], a [maskil] by David.] Godless fools say in their hearts, "There is no God." They are corrupt. They do disgusting things. There is no one who does good things. 1 The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity. There is no one who does good.1 {To the chief Musician. On Mahalath: an instruction. Of David.} The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God! They have corrupted themselves, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
2 God has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there is anyone who understands, Who seeks after God.2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.2 God looks down from heaven on Adam's descendants to see if there is anyone who acts wisely, if there is anyone who seeks help from God.2 God looks down from heaven on the children of men, to see if there are any who understood, who seek after God.2 God looked down from the heavens upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.
3 Every one of them has turned aside; together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one.3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.3 Everyone has fallen away. Together they have become rotten to the core. No one, not even one person, does good things.3 Every one of them has gone back. They have become filthy together. There is no one who does good, no, not one.3 Every one of them is gone back, they are together become corrupt: there is none that doeth good, not even one.
4 Have the workers of wickedness no knowledge, Who eat up My people as though they ate bread And have not called upon God?4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.4 Are all those troublemakers, those who devour my people as if they were devouring food, so ignorant that they do not call on God?4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and don't call on God?4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, eating up my people as they eat bread? they call not upon God.
5 There they were in great fear where no fear had been; For God scattered the bones of him who encamped against you; You put them to shame, because God had rejected them.5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.5 There they are-panic-stricken- [but] there was no reason to panic, because God has scattered the bones of those who set up camp against you. You put them to shame. After all, God has rejected them. 5 There they were in great fear, where no fear was, for God has scattered the bones of him who encamps against you. You have put them to shame, because God has rejected them.5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was; for God scattereth the bones of him that encampeth against thee. Thou hast put them to shame, for God hath despised them.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
6 Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When God restores His captive people, Let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.6 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.6 If only salvation for Israel would come from Zion! When God restores the fortunes of his people, Jacob will rejoice. Israel will be glad.6 Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When God brings back his people from captivity, then Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad. For the Chief Musician. On stringed instruments. A contemplation by David, when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, "Isn't David hiding himself among us?"6 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God turneth again the captivity of his people, Jacob shall be glad, Israel shall rejoice.
