Parallel NASB / KJV / GWT / WEB / DBY
Prayer of an Old Man for Deliverance.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
1 In You, O LORD, I have taken refuge; Let me never be ashamed.1 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.1 I have taken refuge in you, O LORD. Never let me be put to shame.1 In you, Yahweh, I take refuge. Never let me be disappointed.1 In thee, Jehovah, do I trust: let me never be ashamed.
2 In Your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; Incline Your ear to me and save me.2 Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.2 Rescue me and free me because of your righteousness. Turn your ear toward me, and save me.2 Deliver me in your righteousness, and rescue me. Turn your ear to me, and save me.2 Deliver me in thy righteousness, and rescue me; incline thine ear unto me, and save me.
3 Be to me a rock of habitation to which I may continually come; You have given commandment to save me, For You are my rock and my fortress.3 Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.3 Be a rock on which I may live, a place where I may always go. You gave the order to save me! Indeed, you are my rock and my fortress.3 Be to me a rock of refuge to which I may always go. Give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.3 Be to me a rock of habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.
4 Rescue me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, Out of the grasp of the wrongdoer and ruthless man,4 Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.4 My God, free me from the hands of a wicked person, from the grasp of one who is cruel and unjust.4 Rescue me, my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.4 My God, rescue me out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
5 For You are my hope; O Lord GOD, You are my confidence from my youth.5 For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.5 You are my hope, O Almighty LORD. You have been my confidence ever since I was young.5 For you are my hope, Lord Yahweh; my confidence from my youth.5 For thou art my hope, O Lord Jehovah, my confidence from my youth.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
6 By You I have been sustained from my birth; You are He who took me from my mother's womb; My praise is continually of You.6 By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.6 I depended on you before I was born. You took me from my mother's womb. My songs of praise constantly speak about you.6 I have relied on you from the womb. You are he who took me out of my mother's womb. I will always praise you.6 On thee have I been stayed from the womb; from the bowels of my mother thou didst draw me forth: my praise shall be continually of thee.
7 I have become a marvel to many, For You are my strong refuge.7 I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.7 I have become an example to many people, but you are my strong refuge.7 I am a marvel to many, but you are my strong refuge.7 I have been as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.
8 My mouth is filled with Your praise And with Your glory all day long.8 Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.8 My mouth is filled with your praise, with your glory all day long.8 My mouth shall be filled with your praise, with your honor all the day.8 My mouth shall be filled with thy praise, with thy glory, all the day.
9 Do not cast me off in the time of old age; Do not forsake me when my strength fails.9 Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.9 Do not reject me when I am old or abandon me when I lose my strength.9 Don't reject me in my old age. Don't forsake me when my strength fails.9 Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.
10 For my enemies have spoken against me; And those who watch for my life have consulted together,10 For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,10 My enemies talk about me. They watch me as they plot to take my life.10 For my enemies talk about me. Those who watch for my soul conspire together,10 For mine enemies speak against me, and they that watch for my soul consult together,
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
11 Saying, "God has forsaken him; Pursue and seize him, for there is no one to deliver."11 Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.11 They say, "God has abandoned him. Pursue him and grab him because there is no one to rescue him."11 saying, "God has forsaken him. Pursue and take him, for no one will rescue him."11 Saying, God hath forsaken him; pursue and seize him, for there is none to deliver.
12 O God, do not be far from me; O my God, hasten to my help!12 O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.12 O God, do not be so distant from me. O my God, come quickly to help me.12 God, don't be far from me. My God, hurry to help me.12 O God, be not far from me; my God, hasten to my help.
13 Let those who are adversaries of my soul be ashamed and consumed; Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor, who seek to injure me.13 Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.13 Let those who accuse me come to a shameful end. Let those who want my downfall be covered with disgrace and humiliation.13 Let my accusers be disappointed and consumed. Let them be covered with disgrace and scorn who want to harm me.13 Let them be ashamed, let them be consumed, that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.
14 But as for me, I will hope continually, And will praise You yet more and more.14 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.14 But I will always have hope. I will praise you more and more.14 But I will always hope, and will add to all of your praise.14 But as for me, I will hope continually, and will praise thee yet more and more.
15 My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness And of Your salvation all day long; For I do not know the sum of them.15 My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.15 My mouth will tell about your righteousness, about your salvation all day long. Even then, it is more than I can understand.15 My mouth will tell about your righteousness, and of your salvation all day, though I don't know its full measure.15 My mouth shall declare thy righteousness, and thy salvation all the day: for I know not the numbers thereof.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
16 I will come with the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your righteousness, Yours alone.16 I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.16 I will come with the mighty deeds of the Almighty LORD. I will praise your righteousness, yours alone.16 I will come with the mighty acts of the Lord Yahweh. I will make mention of your righteousness, even of yours alone.16 I will go in the might of the Lord Jehovah; I will recall thy righteousness, thine alone.
17 O God, You have taught me from my youth, And I still declare Your wondrous deeds.17 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.17 O God, you have taught me ever since I was young, and I still talk about the miracles you have done.17 God, you have taught me from my youth. Until now, I have declared your wondrous works.17 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth, and hitherto have I proclaimed thy marvellous works:
18 And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come.18 Now also when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.18 Even when I am old and gray, do not abandon me, O God. Let me live to tell the people of this age what your strength has accomplished, to tell about your power to all who will come.18 Yes, even when I am old and gray-haired, God, don't forsake me, until I have declared your strength to the next generation, your might to everyone who is to come.18 Now also, when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not, until I have proclaimed thine arm unto this generation, thy might to every one that is to come.
19 For Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the heavens, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You?19 Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee!19 Your righteousness reaches to the heavens, O God. You have done great things. O God, who is like you?19 Your righteousness also, God, reaches to the heavens; you have done great things. God, who is like you?19 And thy righteousness, O God, reacheth on high, thou who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee?
20 You who have shown me many troubles and distresses Will revive me again, And will bring me up again from the depths of the earth.20 Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.20 You have made me endure many terrible troubles. You restore me to life again. You bring me back from the depths of the earth.20 You, who have shown us many and bitter troubles, you will let me live. You will bring us up again from the depths of the earth.20 Thou, who hast shewn us many and sore troubles, wilt revive us again, and wilt bring us up again from the depths of the earth;
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
21 May You increase my greatness And turn to comfort me.21 Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.21 You comfort me and make me greater than ever.21 Increase my honor, and comfort me again.21 Thou wilt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.
22 I will also praise You with a harp, Even Your truth, O my God; To You I will sing praises with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.22 I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.22 Because of your faithfulness, O my God, even I will give thanks to you as I play on a lyre. I will make music with a harp to praise you, O Holy One of Israel.22 I will also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God. I sing praises to you with the lyre, Holy One of Israel.22 I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, my God; unto thee will I sing psalms with the harp, thou holy One of Israel.
23 My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You; And my soul, which You have redeemed.23 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.23 My lips will sing with joy when I make music to praise you. My soul, which you have rescued, also will sing joyfully.23 My lips shall shout for joy! My soul, which you have redeemed, sings praises to you!23 My lips shall exult when I sing psalms unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
24 My tongue also will utter Your righteousness all day long; For they are ashamed, for they are humiliated who seek my hurt.24 My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.24 My tongue will tell about your righteousness all day long, because those who wanted my downfall have been disgraced and put to shame.24 My tongue will also talk about your righteousness all day long, for they are disappointed, and they are confounded, who want to harm me. By Solomon.24 My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day; for they shall be ashamed, for they shall be brought to confusion, that seek my hurt.
