For the choir director; set to Al-tashheth. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song. We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks, For Your name is near; Men declare Your wondrous works.1 Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.1 [For the choir director; [al tashcheth]; a psalm by Asaph; a song.] We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks. You are present, and your miracles confirm that.1 We give thanks to you, God. We give thanks, for your Name is near. Men tell about your wondrous works.1 {To the chief Musician. 'Destroy not.' A Psalm of Asaph: a Song.} Unto thee we give thanks, O God, we give thanks; and thy name is near: thy marvellous works declare it.
"When I select an appointed time, It is I who judge with equity.2 When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.2 When I choose the right time, I will judge fairly.2 When I choose the appointed time, I will judge blamelessly.2 When I shall receive the assembly, I will judge with equity.
"The earth and all who dwell in it melt; It is I who have firmly set its pillars. Selah.3 The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.3 When the earth and everyone who lives on it begin to melt, I will make its foundations as solid as rock. [Selah]3 The earth and all its inhabitants quake. I firmly hold its pillars. Selah.3 The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I have established its pillars. Selah.
"I said to the boastful, 'Do not boast,' And to the wicked, 'Do not lift up the horn;4 I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:4 I said to those who brag, "Don't brag," and to wicked people, "Don't raise your weapons.4 I said to the arrogant, "Don't boast!" I said to the wicked, "Don't lift up the horn.4 I said unto the boastful, Boast not; and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:
Do not lift up your horn on high, Do not speak with insolent pride.'"5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.5 Don't raise your weapons so proudly or speak so defiantly."5 Don't lift up your horn on high. Don't speak with a stiff neck."5 Lift not up your horn on high; speak not arrogantly with a stiff neck.

For not from the east, nor from the west, Nor from the desert comes exaltation;6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.6 The [authority] to reward someone does not [come] from the east, from the west, or [even] from the wilderness.6 For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the south, comes exaltation.6 For not from the east nor from the west, nor yet from the south doth exaltation come:
But God is the Judge; He puts down one and exalts another.7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.7 God alone is the judge. He punishes one person and rewards another.7 But God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another.7 For God is the judge; he putteth down one and exalteth another.
For a cup is in the hand of the LORD, and the wine foams; It is well mixed, and He pours out of this; Surely all the wicked of the earth must drain and drink down its dregs.8 For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.8 A cup is in the LORD's hand. (Its foaming wine is thoroughly mixed with spices.) He will empty it, [and] all the wicked people on earth will have to drink every last drop.8 For in the hand of Yahweh there is a cup, full of foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours it out. Indeed the wicked of the earth drink and drink it to its very dregs.8 For in the hand of Jehovah there is a cup, and it foameth with wine, it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same; yea, the dregs thereof shall all the wicked of the earth drain off, and drink.
But as for me, I will declare it forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.9 But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.9 But I will speak [about your miracles] forever. I will make music to praise the God of Jacob.9 But I will declare this forever: I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.9 But as for me, I will declare for ever; I will sing psalms to the God of Jacob.
And all the horns of the wicked He will cut off, But the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.10 All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.10 I will destroy all the weapons of wicked people, but the weapons of righteous people will be raised proudly.10 I will cut off all the horns of the wicked, but the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up. For the Chief Musician. On stringed instruments. A Psalm by Asaph. A song.10 And all the horns of the wicked will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
